 Until You're Mine; A Joe Jonas Love Story {{Ch.16}} ..::Marias POV::.. I woke up the next morning to my annoying alarm clock. I stuck my hand out from under my covers, and slammed it down on the SNOOZE button. I got out of my bed, and quickly took a shower and got dressed. I blew out my hair and put some makeup on. Then, I left for work. I ran into Gabby on my way to check in. "Hey." She said to me, while swapping her card to get punched. "Hey, long time no see." I said, doing the same. "Whats up?" "Eh, not much. Just getting ready for school, you?" "Ya know, up until midnight, talking to the BF." "Speaking of BF." Just as Gabby said that I felt warm hands being placed over my eyes. I touched them, and felt the soft surface. Big, manly hands. Definitely Joe. I turned around and placed my lips on his. "Hey, baby." "Thanks for making me feel welcome." He said. He had a tray of coffee that he had placed on the table. He handed me one. "Coffee from WaWa, French Vanilla, Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Caramel Coffee and 3 Splendas." He said as I took a sip. "Perfect." I licked my lips. Yummmmm. Joe kissed my cheek and walked away, in search of a new pair of jeans. After he left, I turned to Gabby. "Awe, how cute is he? Bringing me my coffee early in the morning, for work." "The cutest!" She said, smiling. I put my bag in my locker, and put my nametag on. I started work for the day. Joe visited me a lot, and treated me & Gabby to lunch at Stallions Pizzeria. I thought I saw Elly around 3ish, but I couldnt be positive. When I got home, after work, I took out the notebook, hiding under my bed. It had all the plans in it, for Joes birthday. Gabby & I had started working on it, the other night, coming up with cake ideas for the surprise birthday. After all, he was turning 18! I decided Id call Kevin for some help. He answered his cell within the first ring. "Oh, hey Maria. Whats up?" I was looking straight down at the notebook, so I wouldnt get off topic. "Um, you know how Joes birthday is coming up, right?" "Yeah" "Well, I was sorta planning a surprise party, and I wanted to make a positive list on the guests. So far, Ive got your entire family, Me, and my new friend, Gabby. Anyone else?" He paused for a minute. Then, I heard his voice perk up. "You forgot about Elly. She IS my girlfriend." "Dont you think thatll be a little.weird? I mean, she is his ex, and now shes dating you, his own brother. On behalf of Joe, I truly think he would NOT want her there." "Yeah, well, shes MY girlfriend now, and I think that she belongs there. Put her on the list." "Uh, I dont think so." I really didnt want her there, and Im positive Joe wouldnt either. He hates her right now, and Kevin was just pushing me too far. "Listen, Maria, you put her on that list, or I swear there will be some SERIOUS problems. For one, I know your secret." My heart stopped. My secret. I completely forgot I had told him. But, how could he have remembered? I started breathing heavily. Feeling as though the room was closing in on me. It was getting harder and harder to breathe, within each second. I grasped my neck, and found a bottle of water nearby. I quickly unscrewed the cap, and drank it all down at once. Finally, the words just poured out of my mouth. "Kevin, no. You cant. That could ruin my relationship with Joe, and everyone. YOU CANT!" "Its simple, put Elly on the list, and your secret is safe with me." Blackmail? Was Kevin seriously doing this? This was NOT like him! Tears began forming in my eyes. I hated the thought of it. My past, my deep dark secret, which I vowed to keep silent, for the rest of my life. I wasnt even thinking when one teardrop slowly fell from my right eye. I wiped it away and sniffled. "Fine. Ill do it. Just, dont do this to me, ever again, please." The line went dead. What was going on? ..::Kevins POV::.. I gasped for air, as she took the knife away from my throat. "Perfect. Just perfect. Now, tell me that secret." She said, taking a short pause between each word. "You were her best friend, you should know." "Yeah, well, she never told me. Obviously she consoled to you." She played with the tip of the knife, running her fingers along either flat side. I gulped, dreading this. I tried to break free of the rope, but I wasnt strong enough. I had promised Maria with all my heart, that I would NEVER expose her secret, no matter what. But my life was on the line. I gulped again, and told Elly the secret. She smiled an unbelievably evil smile and placed the tip of the knife on my chin. "Try anything, and youre dead." The tip scraped my chin, as she pulled it away quickly, leaving a scar. I wiped the blood off with my pointer finger.
